ORIGINS

ORIGINS

I’m from and live in Mt. Hood, Oregon. I started skiing at age 2 or 3, and snowboarding at age 14 or 15. I got into it with my friends, and quickly became immersed in the culture, and pretty much obsessed with sliding down the hill. At first I was inspired by snowboard films made by Kingpin, Absinthe, and Mack Dawg. Outside of snowboarding I draw much of my inspiration from surfing.

Over the years I’ve attempted to transpose surf to my riding, and done my best to translate equipment design concepts to my riding equipment designs. I want to continue to document my perspective and that of others who I meet in the broader community to help give voice to those who move our culture and community forward. It’s the full spectrum of individuals I’ve met around the world who inspire me today.

PERSPECTIVE

PERSPECTIVE

Riding down mountains has shaped who I am. Traveling around the world to ride for the past two decades has exposed me to a myriad of ways of living, a variety of modes and approaches to sliding, and ultimately resulted in broadening my perspective both as a rider and a human.

When I first started traveling internationally to ride I was about 15 or 16, and I could only draw on a relatively narrow time of existence. I’m now 38 years old, and because I’ve seen and experienced so much more, I now have a much richer life to inform my perspective, and it continues to evolve with each passing year. I am who I am because of riding, because of the people I’ve met, and because of the highs and the lows that giving yourself fully to something like riding renders.

Story

Story

I’ve designed my life around riding. I live in the mountains close to riding, and when there is snow I ride. The other times of year I live a life that is in balance with the seasons. I love surfing, painting, drawing, photography, cinematography, and spending time with different people. I’m a co-founder of both Season and Nimbus Independent Inc. so I do a lot of design and film work in the off seasons.

I’m a husband, son, and father of two daughters. I focus much of my efforts on exposing my two daughters to all the things I’m passionate about in the hope that they may find something they love, and that they might build their world around.
